When completed, Edmondson Park will become an infrastructure-led, town centre and residential development designed to deliver a diversity of housing densities and a community of around 23,000 residents to Sydney’s south-west over a 15–20 year period.
Edmondson Park will be one of the largest land release areas in south western Sydney and, on completion, will feature a regional town centre (including 20,000m2 of retail floor space), a 150-hectare regional park, a heavy rail line and passenger station (linking to Sydney’s CBD), bus priority infrastructure and a recycled water network.
Key achievements included
- Integrating the requirements of three layers of government.
- Managing the complex planning and strategy development for a multi-owner, greenfield residential development.
- Coordinating infrastructure, town centre development, transit-oriented design and a conservation precinct.
- Visually representing of the complex planning concept to support critical government decision making.
- Coordinating, developing and documenting a statement of interim management intent (SIMI) between Landcom and the Department of Environment and Climate Change for management of the proposed regional park.
