Manidis Roberts is playing a key role in delivering a new, high-capacity light rail system between Helensvale and Coolangatta. Working with Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads, as members of the integrated project team, our people are helping deliver transaction services, project and program management, integrated planning, city building and communications advice.
 
We developed high quality documents to demonstrate the business need and commercial viability of the project to both the Australian and Queensland Governments. We helped create the governance structure for the project, which must accommodate the investment made by three levels of government.
 
Stage one of the project is a 13-kilometre dedicated light rail corridor between Griffith University (Southport) and Broadbeach. We led the transaction services strategy and process for this first stage of work, which requires all contracts to be in place to enable construction, commissioning and operation of the new system by January 2014.
 
We also led the scoping of future stages of the light rail network to Helensvale, Broadbeach and Coolangatta, and the development of program management and project benefits accounting and reporting tools.
