Ripley Valley, located in South East Queensland (SEQ), is one of the largest urban growth areas in Australia. Population estimates range from 80,000 to 120,000 people over the next 25 years.
Ipswich council, the Office of Urban Management and significant landowners have created a development taskforce to undertake a $2 million master planning process for Ripley Valley.
The long-term vision set by the key stakeholders embraces the core elements of sustainability. This requires a new focus, one that embeds sustainable thinking in the decision-making and development process.
Manidis Roberts was engaged by the Ripley Valley Task Force to develop a sustainability strategy for the project, as well as to provide input into a masterplan and priority infrastructure plan for establishing the new regional centre. We were part of the master planning team whose task was to develop a masterplan framework that would deliver the design for a world-class sustainable community.
Manidis Roberts was also engaged by Ipswich City Council to undertake agency stakeholder management and stakeholder relations for Ripley Valley. We developed a stakeholder engagement strategy to ensure all relevant government agencies are appropriately briefed on, and involved in, the master planning process for the development. Manidis Roberts’ role also included the management of critical stakeholders during the development of the comprehensive sustainability strategy and management system.
A comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy was prepared to ensure an effective and consultative master planning process.
