The Sydney Olympics saw the Olympic Co-ordination Authority (now the Sydney Olympic Park Authority) develop the 640-hectares that comprise the Sydney Olympic Park in order to achieve a lasting legacy for the people of NSW.

The project involved developing an over-arching environmental strategy for the Sydney Olympic Park. Over a period of three years, ecologically sustainable development strategies and environmental management plans for specific developments were completed.

Manidis Roberts prepared the overarching environmental strategy for the Olympic Co-ordination Authority that guided all Olympic-related development. The quest was to deliver ecologically sustainable development and the world’s first ‘green games’.

The strategies and environmental management plans undertaken by Manidis Roberts included the Olympic Village, Olympic Hotel, SuperDome, new Sydney Showground, International Equestrian Centre, State Hockey Centre and International Aquatic Centre. Importantly, we championed sustainability and drove the teams to deliver outstanding results in each of these projects.
